How can I be so Blond

Please tell me I am not the only one who didn't notice this.  When launching to a ship or minimus in an inclined orbit I had to guess when the correct launch time was by eyeballing it.  I was even considering writing a mod to give you a countdown.  dunn dunn duunnnnuuunnn Kerbal alarm already does this just set a timer for AN/DN while on the launch pad.  epic fail.

You are indeed blonde*. Proof's in the thread title ;)

That depends. “blond” is perfectly fine according to Merriam-Webster. The term blonde would be specifically used to connotate a blond woman, and then assuming that blond women have below-average intelligence. That would be sexist and surely not appreciated behavior on this forum. So “blond” would actually be fine.

Only if female. A male is blond, a female is blonde.

Props to both of you for beating me to the punch.  Only the ladies are allowed to have "blonde moments".  The rest of us are stuck with "blond moments", and wouldn't we all much rather just drop another letter and be having "Bond moments" instead?  Seriously, that guy gets all the luck.

That being said, and referring back to the original topic, I honestly hadn't noticed that KAC had that function.  I'll have to make use of that in the future.

Guys, could we agree on "enough with the blond jokes already?"  It's an innocent typo, humor exhausted after one casual reference, how about the actual OP question.

Yes, but eyeballing it isn't too hard to do.  Especially if you double-click on Kerbin in the map view to make it focused on Kerbin itself rather than your ship.  Once you've done that, all you have to do is rotate the map view so that you're looking at Minmus orbit perfectly edge-on (i.e. so it appears as just a straight line passing through the center of Kerbin), then timewarp until your ship is right on that line.  Easy and pretty accurate.

Depends on the altitude for Minimus I actually put a small satellite in orbit coplanar orbit to Minimus at 100km just for the purpose of lining up that launch.  Just for fun I rendezvoused with a polar station and hit inclination within .1 before 1300 m/s.  I am normally at least 1 to 2 degrees off eyeballing it.

When I go to Minmus I use Mun orbit as a reference to Kerbin equatorial plane. I eyeball where Minmus and Mun orbit intersect and take-off when KSC is on top. This matches with AN od DN node.

If I can, I let Minmus be on the east or west of me so I can use then "target" as an aim for the correct inclination. If not, I have to eyeball the 6° on the navball. Sometimes, I mess and go the other way, so I've now 12° of plane change to fix :D

Huh. Usually i don't bother with launching to a properly inclined orbit to go to Minmus. I just place maneuver node at DN\AN node depending on where Minmus is. Then just pull Prograde marker and...presto. I get encounter most of the times, if i don't minimal amount of fiddling will get it. I'm sure it isn't most fuel efficient method, but with my habit of building big, overengineered ships i always have dV to spare.

Looks like installing Kerbal alarm clock is overdue.  Hopefully, someday squad will allow maneuver nodes for a landed ship (hopefully it is a Unity 4 thing, since mods can't seem to touch it, and will quickly disappear).

HA!  I use KAC extensively myself, am well aware of the AN/DN alarm feature...and yet I went and eyballed a launch window quite recently anyway.  I was rescuing some forgotten minmus goo science in a career game from an out-of fuel lander whose pilot had long been rescued, and didnt' even think to use an inclination node alarm on the pad.  I'll bet they're great for handling rescue contracts, too.
