Ion Engine Clusters

I found this gif of what appears to be a stock part shuttle taking off from Minmus using two clusters of 8 ion engines. How do you make clusters of ion engines?

Just like anything else. Use radial symmetry. To replicate the gif, make once cluster using radial symmetry (R key in SPH, default in VAB), and then duplicate it using another symmetry.

Well you can radially attach 8 octo struts and stick the engines to them. 

One thing not everyone knows is that you can't occlude ion engines. So you can put them in one line or clip them inside a tank or whatever and they will work fine.

Use the Offset tool.  It'll let you move the ion engines around the fuel tank without the hassle of struts.
