Hello all!

 

First, i hope this post is at the right place. Also, i did my homework a.k.a. a forum search with no results.

I have a problem with reentering, and i suspect a technical issue.

I have been playing for a while, and i never had this problem. Now i installed RO, i totally love it, but i can not reentry without exploding.

I have tried with different setups, from a normal mk 1 command pod with chute to a crew cabin with a 4 m heatshield.

Here is what happens: i enter the atmosphere, everything is fine but i simply don't slow down! Even with a periapsis of 20.000 m, (apo:150.000)

i seem to be simply zipping through the atmosphere, my speed increases and the apoapsis is even getting higher while aero"braking"!

Is there any setting i have to do with one of these mods?

I was hoping, since i have so many mods, someone could help me figure out why that is.

Did you install RO recently, and from CKAN? Apparently there is some screw-up with one of the dependant mods. It was updated for KSP v1.1 but CKAN is installing it in 1.0.5 games, causing the issue. See this (and the linked Reddit conversation inside) for more information.

I came to the forums because I had something similar.

 

I made my first trip, this career, to plant a flag on Mun, and came back to Kerbin.

I ran out of fuel so I had to get out and push for a few thousand Pe, but I don't think that did anything.

 

I entered atmo. Dropped Ap from 11,4Mm down to 4,05Mm (half way-ish). Went around the clock once again.

Entered atmo, again. I watched the burn (the fun stuff).

I check my Ap after climbing out and I now have 18,5Mm(!!)

And, after another trip around, I watched Ap and gained another 10Mm.

 

I cheated the fuel to force it back down. Forced a landing into the ocean.

Entered the atmo and Pe started climbing back out and I got a new Ap of 500k.

 

So, I forced my craft down to 38km @ 20m/s. Turned rockets off... and started floating up!

 

Going up, I get to 56k and get atmo flames and my craft done blowed up. I tried this 3 times.

 

I F9'd and ditched my side tanks. And entered for a normal landing.

It didn't like something on my side tanks.

 

I just had the start Mk-1 capsule with science bay and Jr on top of a 400 tank surrounded by four 400s with 909s underneath and landing gear and fuel lines.

 

The only mods I have are;

 

Mechjeb

Kerbal Alarm (supplemental)

and Waypoints.

 

 

 

Edit: AAAaaand, I just saw the date on these posts.

The light grey doesn't really stick out.
