H+ social movement

What do you think about H+ social movement, technical singularity ideas, about Ray Kurzweil, Eric Schmidt(Google's top-manager), Nick Bostrom, etc. What do you think about it?

If we complete H+ plan, we can get main technology to interstellar flight - immortality. In this case, we can traveling between stars during long time - including centuries, thousands of years, if required. Also, digital brain can use warp time technology like KSP :)

To watch long time travailing very bored, in digital brain in the flight can exist not in real time.

Did anyone else see the thread title and think "Ooh! A chemistry question!"?

:D

Totally thought it meant Hydrogen + in the beginning too, and I was wondering if the thread asked about movement of hydrogen atoms...

Jumping back to the original post, Greg Egan's novel, Diaspora basically describes that kind of scenario. Interstellar distances aren't an issue if you - and more usefully, the civilisation you're leaving behind - can essentially ignore time.

It's a great book - I recommend it, although it'll probably make your brain hurt too. I remember reading it the first time, every time I thought it couldn't get any wonderfully far-out it always did!

Thought about protons too

The same. That's why I thought someone were able to use some fancy wavelength to do so.

Regarding the thread : no, never heard it yet. But I did, for once, though that we've actually overcome the "evolutioning" force, in this case the environment, nature* ; so why not go somewhere weird ?

* : cue example : how Homo Sapiens have, by far, the widest Earth coverage of anything and is viable in almost all environtment ; when things aren't available, we don't leave it as it is, we make it ; how we have personality and complicated social interaction ; etc.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
