is there a newer version of the original krags planets?

The author of OPM+ added a mini version of Thud to their Kopernicus-based pack, so I get the idea that the old planets are not terribly hard to import into the new planet-adding mod. I've never worked with that kind of thing, but you might start there - maybe the heightmaps and textures won't be too hard to add in?
