I have bought a meteorite!

I have got a 365 gram Campo Del Cilo meteorite! 3.4 in by 2.4 in. Bought it from jlacroix1 on ebay. Its really cool.

The thing about meteorites are that they are no different from earth rock if you just look at them. Hope you got some sort of certificate and didn't get scammed.

How to obtain a bunch of meteorites: spray your roof with water, put a bucket under the drain pipe, use a magnet to fish out the meteorites.

I gotta try it at some point.

Campo del Cielo meteorites are now legally protected. If you don't have a certificate or something similar to show provenance, you can reasonably assume that this has either been illegally smuggled out of Argentina or is a fake.

I did get a certificate of authenticity and they guy that sold it to me is in the IMCA (International Meteorite Collectors Association)

Let's stick to the right nomenclature here. If you have a meteor in your room I'd be interested about your room. A meteor, by definition, is in flight.

Once it's landed, it's a meteorite.
