How does an engineer not understand that an infinite series (which allows a steadily decreasing finite amount to be "discovered" infinitely often) does not necessarily add up to an infinite amount (and can actually be quite small)?  I'm pretty sure I thought about putting oil in toothpaste containers (because you can always squeeze a little more out), but  that was right before I took calculus (also it was between OPEC oil concerns and global warming concerns, so running out of oil was a fear of the time).
