KSP 1.1 Asteroid Mass

Recommended Posts

I noticed that asteroids seem to be much smaller in 1.1. I rendezvous'd with two class E's yesterday and both seemed to be under 300 tons... in 1.0.5, they were supposed to be >850 tons or so (at least, according to the wiki). Was this intentional or a bug? I am sad because I wasted two 600k-fund giant asteroid tugs. It's possible this was in a devnote that I missed, but this is the only bullet I've been able to find that seems relevant:

- Refactor asteroid spawning to remove duplicate code, fire events.

After reading this, I went and checked my Emiko Station asteroid (a huge class-E), and it's still at 3,725 ton, so it hasn't shrunk.  But that asteroid was already made into a space station before 1.1, so I don't know if it counts.

Hey, thought... EMIKO CAME FROM DRES!!! Asteroids spawn around Dres, so you should go to Dres!

Also, when I get 1.1 I will go test the asteroid thing by capturing one.

Dude... Not every post needs to involve Dres. However, I am deeply unsettled by the sheer amount of smaller asteroids. I WANT GIANT KERBIN ENDING ASTEROIDS!!!

CLASS Z! Actually, that would be the size if Ike. Maybe class N? A little smaller than Gilly?
