Oh yes, it is backwards, never noticed, thank you.

Anyway, if I want my gear to go backwards at hundreds of m/s, I should be able to, I don't see why there are differences between backward and forward.

Hehe yeah... Maybe it *shouldn't* make a difference, but it seems that it does, so I guess we just have to roll with it until they get it resolved.

Back to topic: I also noticed that while stable when spawning thanks to your config, the "softer" suspensions causes the craft to roll left and right slowly when travelling above 50m/s, eventually causing the demise of the craft. Not sure it is linked to your config or not, but there are things to investigate there.

Yeah, I've noticed that although it's pretty subdued now. It was actually happening before, it just caused a rapid vibration that destroyed the wheels instead of a slow wallow in roll. I haven't actually had it cause a crash yet.

I just throw this in here as there is no real main-thread about wheel issues (that i could find)

Imho all wheels on auto-traction have too much. When i build a plane with 1 steering LY05 (front) and 2 support LY01 in the back, a slight turn would cause the front wheel to turn the plane around like it was on rails and then the plane flipped etc. That was on tarmac and the grassland next to it. Reducing the friction to 0.1 made the wheels slide a lot (as they realistically would) and it was a lot better.

The jittering seems to be caused by micro-movements from joints/parts. If i attach LY01 to wings or some not very stable part, they jump, if i attach them to the heaviest part of the plane (usually fuel tank or capsule/cockpit) they hardly jump.

However ALL planes seems to slide/move across the ground when standing still, even with brakes on. A kerbal walking around and bumping into the plane can cause it to move.

Biggest issue is the LY05. I can hardly land a plane now with this in front. SAS + Steering seems to cause extreme stress -> explosion. Turning steering off helps, disabling SAS also helps but it makes the plane difficult to land.

I don't know what is causing the stress/friction but they love to explode on the slightest issue when i try to get a plane in the air on the runway. At 50 m/s i basically have to take my finger of the keyboard and only have one finger on S or the whole plane will make a massive jump. It all feels like some forces of the wheels can build up way too strongly. 50 m/s and a 5t plane, i dont see how suspension could cause enough force to make one of the rear wheels jump 1m high. They have really bad leverage on the whole mass so the force has to be extreme. As the force also goes upward i suspect it is the suspension and nothing else. Dampening or how they calculate the force that pushes the wheel down (in other words, the spring inside the suspension)
