How in Kod's Name do you Turn on 64 Bit Mode!?!?!

I'm on Mac and I just re-downloaded the game from the store (not steam) and it's DEFINITELY  not in 64 bit. What the hell do I do?

In the game folder, there is an executable for the 64 bit version of the game.

dont know if its the same on a mac, but on a PC you go to steam, games library, right click on KSP and there's a 'launch 64-bit KSP' option.

It has the same icon as the KSP.exe, but it's called KSP_x64.exe.

The KSP.app bundle in the OS X distribution contains a universal binary, with code for both architectures. I'd be incredibly surprised if your operating system was running the 32 bit code in it. 

What makes you suspect it's not running in 64 bit mode?

It tastes kinda spicy and sour like all x86-related code, but with this weird oily aftertaste of fat pointers and bitter flavor of the ashes of people's dreams (from when they forgot that all x86 chips have a 64-bit data bus since the original Pentium some thirty thousand years ago, in the middle of the paleolithic era, and the magical expected performance never materialized).

I've only got a few mods installed and the mission timer is slow. Ksp.app? I'm on Mac. I'll check again but I don't thing it's there

for the PC there is just an option in the advanced settings of the launcher. I dunno about mac

There's a bunch of red buttons that say something's not available on the platform. I don't know what they are and it's kinda bugging me

KSP.app is the executable that starts the game. Finder is just hiding the extension.

How do I tell it to unhide things? I'm sorta new to this department; I've made a few mods but I just can't find it for some reason
