My first shared craft

Recommended Posts

Today im going to post my first images of my Athlas Series, first of all, im sorry for my bad English and the aesthetic of my post.

Let's see the mods i have installed that i think they add parts to the game

MechJeb 2

Ven's Stock Revamp

Kerbal Joint Reinforcement

There are 2 ships on the album:

Athlas I

It's a multi proposal ship, 20 Tons with 1900 Dv, capable to dock in orbit and land on Minmus without problems, and land on Mun flying carefully due to fuel problems.

It have all the science except SC-9001 Science Jr, solar panels, battery, RCS propellant for docking maneuver and landing legs.

Athlas II

The same craft with double amount of fuel. With 31 Tons and 2800 DV of fuel to spare, its able to land on Duna and return to Kerbin safely, repacking the chutes previously of course.

Athlas I Lifter

There is an example on the images for the Athlas I module.

I launch this craft with Mechjeb to a parking orbit 80 Km on Kerbin, then the Athlas I its able to dock on Kerbin or land on Minmus and Mun.

The lifter has 6070 DV.

Athlas II Lifter

This craft puts the Athlas II and his Transfer Module on a parking orbit 800Km above Kerbin. Then it moves to Duna and orbit without aerobraking. The Athlas II can land on Duna and return safely without refueling.

I think this craft uses many parts of the Ven's Stock Revamp, but i love how the crafts looks with this mod.

There are the album:

Finally i want to see your opinions of the craft, the post, and if anyone wants to see it on action, tell me and i make pictures on my next mission!

I can share de craft file if anyone wants to test.

Thanks !!

I like both rockets. And the ships as well. The rockets, because they are fully described - what they can do, where they can fly, what their delta-v is. And it looks like the set of engines and fuel storage are balanced. Like no additional fuel or engines are required.

I want to ask something - going to Duna requires more living space; in the project are there any additional living modules?

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi everyone!

The last week I have been making changes to my landers, because one of them have problems with one fuel line when I attach the lander as a subassembly. The problem is that fuel lines disappear, giving me only 800 DV so im losing 1400 DV in each craft. I solved this problem placing the fuel lines in other position, and less fuel tank clipping so it gives me 2300 DV instead 2800. Anyone knows how to solve this problem?? Some times when i load the craft it have the fuel lines, some times no...  but I think is it related with the heavy part clipping on the craft.

Actually im only making crafts for fun, making them capable to land on some bodys and test them on fast misions (WAAAAAAAARP), so no living spaces are scheduled to build.

That's the whole point of Spacecraft Exchange. Waiting for your craft files.

I never expected that someone has interested on my craft, so i waited to someone to ask me. This night I will update the post with the craft file, and if someone tell me how to solve the problem with fuel lines, I will update the craft and upload it. Which file hosting are using the forum to upload the crafts? KerbalX??

Thank you all and sorry for my bad English! .
