1.1.2 - Remove leftover contract orbit and station

Recommended Posts

Hi gang,

Things are well on 1.1.2, with one exception.

I had a kerosync sat orbit to perform with visual of the ground station which I executed flawlessly :)

I was within visual sight of the ground station, maybe 3 degrees behind it (still basically overhead) and the contract wouldn't complete due to not fulfilling the line of sight part.

All other aspects, orbit, equipment on the sat, being a new sat, were fine.

Ok, I chalked it up to a bug, left it and cancelled the contract.

The ground station in question and the kerbosync orbit are still showing up in my map.

How might I remove them from the persistent file? (If that indeed would be the procedure?)

I just had a Kerbin synchronous orbit contract, also. I am close to fulfilling it -- but I'm finding something that looks a little strange and seems to be related to the OP's cancelled contract.

The game puts a marker on the surface that you are supposed to maintain line of sight with. To the best that I can tell so far, it always puts the marker in the wrong place. I haven't completely mapped it out yet, but it looks to me like the marker is at least 200km west of the actual point that you are supposed to maintain line of sight with. There is an item in the contract that gets checked when you are in line of sight. As I came up from behind the marker, it did not turn "checked" until I was almost exactly overhead (within .1 degrees?). It has remained checked as I have passed the marker by at least 400km so far.

Edit: to the best I can tell, the position that was "acceptable" for line of sight started at the marker and extended eastward (ahead) of the marker by just about 800km. So if you are behind the marker (westward) by a few degrees, it won't work.
