Part screen blanked out. How can I fix?

Hello! I'm trying to play the latest demo of KSP on a dell inspiron 15 3521 laptop running Elementary OS Luna (basically Ubuntu 12.04). I can start the game file and get passed the menu, but when attempting to do training for a spacecraft build, part of the screen appears blacked out where I should be seeing the spacecraft hangar. How can I solve this problem? Attached is a screenshot for reference

Hi @capsulecorplab, many graphical issues on the Linux version of KSP can be worked around by using Unity engine command line arguments.

Try starting KSP with -force-glcore
