  1. 1. Please choose the answer that best describes your current KSP usage (for arguments sake, answer for your most-played installation).

    • I'm playing 1.1.x without frequent bug-related issues.
      145
    • I'm playing 1.1.x despite frequent bug-related issues and/or bugs affecting the way I play.
      73
    • I'm playing 1.0.5 because 1.1.x has too many bugs.
      11
    • I'm playing 1.0.5 for other reasons (e.g. modded install compatibility).
      4
    • I'm playing an earlier version than 1.0.5.
      4
    • I'm not playing KSP at all for other reasons.
      10
    • I'm not playing KSP at all because it's too buggy in 1.1.x.
      22
    • I'm not playing KSP at all because it's too buggy in any version.

  2. 2. Did you know you can still download 1.0.5 from Steam/the KSP Store? If not, would/does that affect your answer above?

    • I knew, so no.
      194
    • I didn't know/I forgot, and no.
      76
    • I didn't know/I forgot, and yes.

  3. 3. Do you have more than one copy of KSP installed? If no, will your experiences with 1.1.x affect this going forward?

    • Yes but I only really play the one I answered for in Question 1.
      119
    • Yes and I frequently play more than one of them.
      33
    • No, and no on principle. One install should be enough as long as it's thoroughly bug-checked before release.
      24
    • No, and no, but I can deal with the bugs/I haven't really suffered from bugs so far.
      41
    • No, and no for other reasons (e.g. HDD space).
      7
    • No, but I'm now considering it going forward.
      5
    • No, but I definitely will in future.
      4
    • I don't have KSP installed just now.

Funny, I was wondering the opposite. How many people report "frequent bugs" and mean that their ship is wobbly on liftoff.

For the record I've had a single CTD since 1.1.2 came out, in many hours of play, lots of it in a row.

Or how many people have outdated mods that are causing crashes.

Basically @The_Rocketeer Is looking for "data" but all these polls are giving is noise.

@Basto while I might've referred to the collected results of this poll as 'data', what I'm actually looking for is -brace yourself- just the results of the poll. Whatever you want to call them, noise is fine, data, responses, results, answers, tallies, etc. That's what I wanted.

I did a completely clean re-install. With zero mods, I can get maybe an hour of play on the x64 version before a crash. I decided if it was going to crash anyway, might as well load up on the mods! It didn't change anything. Lol. For the first 8 or 10 hours, I just dealt with it. Now I don'tt even bother. I'll just wait for the next update to play again.

I answered the pole in relation to game-breaking bugs like CTDs, or other random issues like with the wheels which can completely ruin a craft when it wonks out. But yeah, I can see how people thinking wobbly craft are from bugs could skew things.

I was really just referring to several posts I've seen where people are complaining about the frequent CTDs or other bugs and inevitably there will be others claiming how the game is not buggy, despite the obvious evidence to support otherwise. But hey, if they're happy, good for them. :)

I haven't encountered any bugs at all in 1.1.x, and I see I'm far from alone. Is there a vocal minority in this, complaining against 1.1? Because I have seen more people than ever who dislike this game version, and yet this poll seems to disagree.

This assertion is useless without an idea of the magnitude of the "noise", there's always some.

I have occasional CTD issues, but mostly when I leave the game running while I'm elsewhere. Hasn't really effected my play style or schedule.

Though I have issues with the non retractable landing gear that prevent me using them.

The poll itself doesn't agree or disagree, but as for the results, I think you're misinterpreting them. Here's a very rough breakdown:

  • Of those playing 1.1.x (nearly 80% of the responders), roughly 1 in 3 say it's despite frequent bug problems.
  • Of those playing 1.0.5 (about 5% of the responders), roughly 4 in 5 says they're doing so because of 1.1.x bugs.
  • Of those not playing KSP at the moment (about 14% of responders), roughly 2 in 3 say they're doing so because of bugs, and 80% of them specifically 1.1.x bugs.
  • Leaving roughly 1% playing some other version of KSP.

What this rounds out to is roughly 55% who say 1.1.x is working ok in their view, and for nearly all the rest it's causing frequent or unplayable issues.

Again this is all very rough, and as ever it's not really my intention to draw conclusions from this, but when it comes to a bit of quick arithmetic are some broad strokes that seem pretty hard to argue with.
