Shielded docking port vs k&k docking port

Hey guys

I recently added the K&K planetary base system to my ksp 1.1.0 and I'm loving it.

Here's the thing i'm actually trying to set up a roving base on the mun for diverses experiments and mainly just the fun of it  , but here's come trouble , for some reason the second HABITATED part of my station is currently orbiting kerbin for about a month now without any engines attached ,"not a problem" i said , " i just have to send a probe with engines and a shielded docking port on top of it , plug myself at the back of the orbiting base section (K&K docking port) and off i am to the mün" but here's the problem , i manage to make the 2 docking parts kissing each others but... not "making it" , in other words the stuff won't connect and i'm just stucked with two separate ships orbiting Kerbin.

Did anyone had the same problem??
