Hmm. Does the directory still have the steam plugin? It will still use steam if it has the plugin, AFAIK.

I have Steam, though I didn't buy KSP there... I get exactly the same results with and without the steam runtime. So I'd say steam has nothing to do with it.

Sorry.  I wasn't thinking in terms of people using multiple different setups to play so I didn't enable multiple choice.
