Help! Mods

Hi all! Newbie here!

I have a question about Scatterer, I download the mod and paste it to my Gamedata folder, I load KSP, and the water is pixelated, and the effects of this mod do not show up in my game.

On start up I get a popup window with Scatterer's Settings, Perhaps I need to adjust the settings? what numbers in each section can I put in to get the best effects from the mod?

I downloaded from spacedock, Graphics Enhancements Assembly V3 pre-release, but was unsure how to follow the instructions correctly. Could someone look at the instructions on Spacedock, and explain them to me simply what I am to do, to get the nice effects. I am playing on a Mac.

I have KSP 1.1.2

Are you using DX11 Command? There is a Discussion about the ocean shader maybe it can help you.

Welcome to the forums :)

You will probably not receive much support here for Graphics Enhancements Assembly V3. The "authors" of that "mod" basically just repackage other people's work, often without proper attribution or following the terms of the licenses. And they're not even part of the community here on the forums; they do it all from their own, unrelated website (which is just a profile on a Russian facebook-alike). As a result of this, any question about how to make that pack work will probably be answered with "don't know and don't care, go ask those guys".

My recommendation is that you ditch that stuff, and instead go straight to the source - install the individual mods yourself. The rule of the thumb is that every real KSP mod also has a development and support thread here on the forums, because it's sort of a requirement by the community rules that there needs to be a place where a mod author explains their license. So in the case of Scatterer, for example, you can find the thread via the forum search; for your convenience, it is here. Download the mod by itself, put it in a clean KSP install, and see if it works. If it doesn't, you can ask questions in that thread, and you will definitely find lots of help! :)

Individual installation of mods is made much easier with tools like CKAN, which is a community-developed software that downloads and installs mods for you. Not all mods are available via CKAN, but probably 90% of them are.

If you're in the market for a prepackaged experience (which also includes Scatterer), you can try KSP Renaissance Compilation, which is essentially what that Graphics Enhancements Assembly guys are ripping off anyway - just actually legit, respectful of licenses and authors, containing tons of custom content, and well supported. Just beware that it requires noticably more hardware power than stock KSP does.

Thanks StreetWind! will definitely keep that in mind (about Graphics Assembly)

Thanks very much for the KSP hints.

Regarding Scatterer, I made a fresh install of KSP, dumped Scatterer in Gamedata, opened KSP, the water is still pixelated so I will have a look and see what the Scatterer thread has to say about it.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
