Deleted stock crafts, want to get them back.

By any chance, did you get KSP through Steam?

If so, there's a "repair game" feature available through the Steam UI, which will basically scan your local installation, compare it against a "pure" version, and if you have any missing or altered files, refresh them from the server.  Makes recovering from this sort of goof very easy.

Does it delete any mods or saves?

Nope.  If there are files there that it doesn't recognize, it leaves them alone.  All it does is make sure that,

  • if there's an "official" file that's missing, it restores it
  • if there's an "official" file that's been altered, it overwrites it with a fresh version

This saved my bacon when I'd been tinkering with some stock textures and accidentally overwrote the actual installed file rather than the copy I had made in my own, separate folder.  It was quick, easy, and worked perfectly.

Steam's cache verification doesn't delete anything, it only adds back in stuff that's missing iirc. Just in case, I'd backup your mods and saves before verifying the game cache though.

For future reference, if you'd like to remove the stock crafts without deleting them from the game's files, you can disable stock crafts from appearing when you start a new save game in the game difficulty options - uncheck 'allow stock vessels'. :)
