FYI: KSC2 is usefull in career mode

Many people have mentioned wanting to be able to purchase the island airfield or KSC2 in career mode.

Its been known for a while that doing science at KSC2 gives the same science as at the KSC.

However, I don't recall anyone mentioning if KSC2 functions as KSC for the purposes of recovery %

 

It does... landing at the flat area (including an area useable as a runway) will get you 98% recovery.

If you taxi up to the launchpad... you get 100% recovery. I just used this in career mode... some of you may find it useful.

Well that's very interesting. Does it also count as a "recovery site" for distance purposes. Ie, if I was outside the KSC2 98% area, would it scale based on my distance to KSC2, or to KSC?

In other words, is the worst place to land, halfway between KSC2 and KSC?

I don't think it gives you any distance bonus... I'll go test that now.

I suspect it will be a very lare jump in recovery % at the boundry.

 

 

Yea... recovering just outside the boundry of KSC2 only yielded 62.2% recovery.

Is it also still the case that if something is parked on the KSC2 launchpad, the game demands you recover it before you can launch something from the regular launchpad?
