Disable Mach Effects?

Is there any way to disable mach effects?  My laptop runs KSP just fine until they kick in.  Then it slows to around 4fps.  After searching around for days, I haven't found anything on this.

Hi @Pikoro, yes, in the settings screen and in game settings window there is a slider for aero FX, turn it down to reduce the effect, at the lowest setting it disables them.

Or you can press F11 to view your craft's temperature gradient. This now disables aero and heat effects. Now, I am running "Hot Spot," so I can't say for sure whether this is happening in stock or not. It's a nice feature nonetheless because it's a quick toggle.
