Parttools Issues

So I get this:

When I add "Parttools" folder to the assets folder of my project.  After I add "parttools" to my model on the right, there's a button to select the data directory.  I set this as "Driveletter:/Kerbal Space Program/GameData and I get this empty window that I can't close...

UPDATE:  Because you set the data directory to "driveletter:/KSP foldername/GameData/Squad"

 

Should the right person read this, a super short README would be a smashing idea for that parttools zip.

No you should be able to set it to GameData.
What does the "Console" log in Unity show when you try to set it to GameData?
I've had this happen before, it can happen if you have an empty config node somewhere in your GameData folder.
The Console log will usually spit out a message to this effect telling you which one it is.

Oh?  Good because setting it to Squad causes my parts to be written into subfolders under Squad which I have to cut/paste into my mod directory - a bit of a pain.

Sooooo...  where does one find this "Console" log?

See the tab in unity editor that says "console" next to your parts list tab at the bottom half of the editor. Click that

That got it.  Offender was "Gameframer" which had a plugin cfg file with no nodes in it.

 

Buh bye Gameframer...
