Mass Kerbal Transfer/EVA

I find it rather strange that kerbonauts can only be transferred one by one. Surely transferring/ejecting kerbals could be less tedious? What if we had check boxes next to the crew's names that would let us mass-select them and then perform whatever action with all of the selected kerbals?

As for IVA transfers for multiple Kerbals, very good idea. Rep+

As for instant EVA for multiple Kerbals, yeah would be nice if that could, but I can foresee multiple Kerbals clipping into one another if multiple are put on EVA, shooting each other off in multiple directions, and possibly summon the Kraken.

What if they jumped out one by one out of every available hatch? Like paratroopers!

Indeed, that was such a suggestion made by a few users of ship manifest. I actually have most of the code already in place to accomplish that from an earlier refactor resource management.  

JPL repo is right.  We had discussed it via Skype for a little while, so I'm actually at work on that.

So please direct your suggestions over in the SM thread

I will copy this over to your thread.

Some solutions to the mass kerbal exiting issue:

  • have the crew auto EVA and populate the selected door once it is clear
  • populate all or selected doors with kerbals
  • popcorn kerbals out the door
  • have kerbals follow the leader
