Low FPS/Lags when viewing planets with oceans

Recommended Posts

KSP Version: 1.1.2/1.1.3 Clean install, any save, not specific craft

Mods / Add-Ons: tl;dr: GCmonitor and Hyperedit - I installed just GCmonitor for FPS and memory counter + hyperedit for speedy geting to planets with water = can't cause this problems

PC Specs: Can tell any more if it will be needed....

Intel i5 3.2GHz (Quad core)

AMD Rad HD 5570

8GB RAM

Problem:

Always I load any of my saves(even new) and look at kerbin from any position above ocean, game fps drops bellow 20, usually to 10-14(when I have more mods)

Same problem occurs at Eve or Laythe oceans...

I discovered that from 600km up orbits the fps are getting back higher up to 35FPS

I havent any problem with 20FPS when looking at planet ocean, but I have big problem that when I look anywhere other than ocean it goes instantly to 60FPS which is max.

Everything is described at photos....

Fixes/Workarounds: When I/we found a fix, I ll edit post and add fix here:D

Truth is I encountered this problem with modded install, where I have 12-14 FPS when looking at oceans and it is bigger problem, but because I tried it with clean install, it must be problem of the game/something different than problem of the mods.

And sorry for bold typing, I don't know what caused it, but I can't change it back to normal like this words...some could be changed and some couldn't....:D

Thanks for any help!

Ave!

Why is this only question unanswered in this sub-forum?

These two topics should answer all your questions, despite the fact that "LOW FPS" phrase was used countless times. You can easily search in forum and see that yourself.
This is,by my opinion the most common question which was discussed and answered many many times.

Performance on my laptop was massively improved in 1.1. I get even better performance by turning off Anti-Aliasing in Graphics Settings. I stay mostly in the green now, and can use Real Plume. Haven't dared install any more visual enhancements since they made the game unplayable. I have Intel virtual graphics though, so it might work differently.
