Approaching station causes vehicle to freeze

Recommended Posts

So here I am taking a new ship for a spin. I try a targeted launch with MechJeb, it takes me within 2.7 km of an old 1.1.2 station that hasn't been given me crap yet; map says closest approach at 1.4 km. I timewarp to the sunlit side, and halfway through to the closest approach, I spot the station at 870 m. I dump the rest of the launcher, and fire up the Rendezvous Autopilot. The approach burn is executed flawlessly, but the final relative velocity kill burn doesn't happen; I try again, same thing. As I find out after turning the autopilot off, the controls, including throttle, RCS and orientation, freeze up within about 300 m of the station, and then upon reaching a certain distance. I took a look at the debug console, and there's a ton of errors.

u might have more luck in the MJ thread, since this doesnt seem like a game glitch.

MJ usually locks most manual controls when its in autopilot.

Had similar issues some month back when using MJs autopilot always disabled my RCS ports for no reason -.- (and didnt switch them back on)

I HAVE disabled all of MechJeb tech. Plus there seem to be errors when unpacking the stations. Given how much crap OrbitDriver and other warp-related physics are giving people, I do think there may be an issue.

"disabling" mechjeb is just a part of mechjebs code - what means that MJ is still running and maybe still has some influence.

Just saying - i never had an issue with a game that didnt load MJ at all. On the other hand i had some when using MJ... so it was worth a guess.

I'm having the exact same problem. It only happens about 2/3s of the time but since I'm building 2 craft in orbit at the moment it's very annoying. It doesn't seem to matter whether I'm using mechjeb or manually rendezvousing at about 2-300m from the station I can't control the movement of my craft at all until it gets 500m away. Things like lights, solar panels, etc still work - just no movement or throttle.
