Moho Canyon?

How wide is the Moho "Canyon" at the bottom? I'm launching my third base to Moho, and my current standard base is 31.7m wide. I've never been to that region, and do not have any assets orbiting over it. I'd like to plant my base at the bottom of the canyon, because it will look cool.

Also, does anyone have pictures of the bottom the Moho Canyon?

Put the base on top, on the edge of the cliff. Whenever you decouple anything that become rubbish debris, then just use a Klaw mobile to throw it down the canyon...it is someone else's problems then 

* there is more than 200m of space down there(forgot to add a ruler on my rover, but Mk1 eyeball and all that). It is about as flat as surfaces on the Mun.

canyon? Moho has a canyon? or are you talking about the conical mohole?

I think he/she does mean the mohole. If so then it narrows to a point, there is no flat bottom there to land on.

No, it has a canyon biome on the southern hemisphere.

Seems to be at -39 -140 on kerbal maps

Cool, I learned something... and this is even after I've been to moho multiple times, including 3 landings in my current career

Just popped over there and took a look. The canyon is wide and shallow. Loads of room for even the largest base. 

It is on the dark side of Moho and so solar panels are not going to help there.

As far as I know, moho is not tidally locked, so... there is no dark side

According to the wiki, its solar day is 123 kerbin days though... so quite long.

Ah, right thanks. I warped through a number of days and it looked as though it was tidally locked. 

If it's a long night then that could be pretty much the same thing as far as powering a base goes.

Well that is mildly disappointing. I was hoping for a deep shear walled canyon.

However, I can offer you some consolation... There's a canyon that sounds like what you are looking for on Dres. It's call the Kraken's Bum...
