Mining resources besides ore

Hello everyone
I want to start resource mining. From what I understand the only mine-able resource in the stock game is ore, but when I tried scanning a body for resources a lot more showed up, such as uraninite, hydrate and more.
I also found karbonite although I don't have the karbonite mode.
This may have happened because I was using SCANsat to scan for resources.

I wanted to ask if this really is the cause, and if there are any modes that let you harvest more resources (and preferably do something with them as well).
I already have the Planetary Base mod which allows harvesting water, but I'm looking for something more (for example mining uraninite for nuclear power or something like that).

You get those things because they are part of the Community Resource Pack.  The USI mods (including UKS) make extensive use of these.

I thought about using UKS but it seemed very complicated and it adds lots of parts (I'm having trouble finding parts already). It seems amazing but a bit too much for me. Besides I already have Planetary Base System.

I'm still considering adding some USI modes, but do you have more suggestions?

It's not really that complicated... the issue is generally folks try to do everything in a single launch (which is contrary to the reality that planetary colonization is really hard, and the 'end game' of space exploration).  It's a gameplay mod, not a parts mod.

I just found MKS Lite so I'll check that out.
Are there any other mods that use the resources from the Community Resource Pack?

For harvesting, KSPI does.  Very likely some others as well.

There are... probably too many to list. But, there probably is a comprehensive list of them all somewhere on the forum.
