USI Kolonization questions

OK, so I recently downloaded USI Kolonization, which seems to have included 000_USITools, Firespitter, USI/Kolonization, Kontainers and ReactorPack. I also have KAS/KIS and Mechjeb; tried to install KER but it doesn't seem to work.. I'm using the latest steam version of KSP on PC, 1.1.3 64-bit.

I guess my first question is, 1) Did I install those right? 000_USITools, CommunityResourcePack and firespitter go in the GameData folder, Kolonization etc goes in GameData/UmbraSpaceIndustries.

2) I can't for the life of me figure out how to inflate or deflate modules like the OKS agricultural module or the Mk V Habitation. I also can't get the integrated lander legs to retract on the lander pod. They seem to not have the appropriate context menu options.

3) Saddle packs and the small (0.15 ton) radial supply packs don't seem to actually do anything. They have no resources, and no context menu options.

4) My kerbals don't seem to be actually eating supplies anyhow. I've currently got a space station with 6 Kerbals, 2 Pioneer modules, 2 OSI Aeroponics modules, a communications lab, a mini-command module, and a lander module with 500 supplies; it's been orbit for about a sol now and it still has 500 supplies. Even with a pioneer module running a greenhouse my understanding is I should be losing a couple supplies a day.

5) Most of the Kolonization parts (almost all of them, in fact) don't show up anywhere but Advanced Search. I stumbled across them in the Sort By Tech Level menu, but it's a little inconvenient to find them that way. Is there a better way?

Yeah I did that, and I just did it again to make sure everything was still where it was supposed to be. I was nosing around in the text files looking at everything, but I didn't actually make changes (and they would've been reverted just now if I had).

I'm really impressed by the depth and detail of this mod, I just wish I could get it to work :P If the issues I listed up there are  -not- the expected behavior for this mod on my KSP build, then I suspect that whatever happened to KER may have struck again; KER seems to be installed properly and the widgets are there in the hangar, they just don't work.

Just to verify it's not some weird efficiency thing, I turned off the greenhouse and accelerated time to 91 days. Supplies are still not being consumed, mulch is not being produced and everyone is quite happy to go EVA, which I understand they shouldn't be doing if they are hungry. Do I need a kerbitat or something before the system even starts to kick in?

I mentioned every mod I have installed. If USI-LS is not bundled into the Kolonization pack, I will try installing it. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me to introduce a bunch of new resources explicitly for the purpose of life support, and then not adding the life support itself, but maybe that's why all those parts weren't showing up in my hangar. It still doesn't explain why I can't deflate/retract them though.

Added USI-LS. I now have new Freight and Kolonization tabs in my root hangar inventory that seem to include all the modules I was missing, and those modules now have the proper Deploy commands in their context menu. Have verified that Kerbonauts are now eating supplies, producing mulch, and the inflatable modules do in fact inflate and deflate on my existing ship.

Installing USI-LS appears to have fixed all of the issues. Saddle tanks and Supply Packs are now USI warehouses (I don't know what that does) but I still don't see any way to actually load supplies into them. They're in the freight tab.

At least I didn't get the categorization of the question wrong :P Thanks for the help.
