Well, actually, the teacher is wrong about Newtonian physics. A Rcoket blast can indeed put a rocket into orbit, and Newton knew and noted that with sufficient speed, you could stay up in an orbit. Still fun.

EDIT: Did not know this was a necro until it was too late. This was in the fan-works library. Sorry.
