How to update ksp windows edition straight from website.

Hi guys!

I downloaded ksp straight from the website for windows when 1.1 had just come out, and now I want to get 1.3 for it. Do I have to reinstall all of my game, or can I just use the launcher and hit "update" to update the game? I would prefer to not have to reinstall my game, so if there is a third way plz tell me.

You do need to reinstall it, but that is a great advantage because you can have both.

1. Rename the existing KSP folder, eg; with the version number
2. Download and install the new version
3. Play both/either.

If I need to reinstall, why does the launcher give the option to update it?

Well, you know, the launcher has funky ideas about things.  Try it at your own risk if you wish, I'd always download and keep the backup (in fact, I have every version since 0.23, except 1.12 for some reason).

ok. Also, is there an advantage to getting 1.3? like new parts or physics? otherwise I'll just wait for the next content other wise to update. 1.1 is fine with me (can't find any bugs )

I have .19 on a flashdrive somewhere around here as I did the same thing.

There are bug fixes and a few other game changes but as far as gameplay or gameplay features, there are none that I know of.
