KSP Update?

I'm new to KSP and still learning the ropes.  I seem to have a bit of an issue though.  I don't know what the most recent version is and there seem to be some important changes that have been made between versions.  I watch a lot of videos to try and help me figure out how stuff works, but I'm not sure if everything that I learn from the videos actually applies to my version of KSP.  I'm currently playing version 0.25.0.642.  Seeing that this version begins at less than 1, I can't help but think that I'm missing a few updates.  How can I update my game?

Welcome aboard!

You will have to download the complete new version from the KSP store or other point of purchase. Steam I think will automatically update it. 

You're in for some pleasant surprises and some new things to learn, too, the game has come a long way since 0.25.

Oh dear, your in for a rough surprise. Just about everything's changed since .25.

If need be I can walk you through the updates since I was there for the updates.

Hi @Lone Kerbal and welcome.

RIC pointed you in the right direction to get updated.  The latest version is currently 1.1.3 and yes there have been 'loads' of changes compared to what you currently have.

Don't be afraid to post on the forums with any questions and requests for guidance.  There will always be someone willing and able to help. 

Edit.. yes 1.2 is not too far away, with even more changes and enhancements, but we don't know when (and asking for release dates is taboo), but I doubt that it will be for a few weeks.   So I would say it's definitely worth getting 1.1.3 and updating again when 1.2 comes out.  The jump from 1.1.3 to 1.2 will be tiny in comparison.
