Can you guys recommend some visual mods?

Hello, 

 

I have been playing this game on a cheap comp with terrible graphics for a long time and recently upgraded to a nice gaming setup. Looking for some mods to make the planets realistic looking/ just as nice as possible! Thanks!

Well,these are pretty much "standard" for me.

But for my 1.1.3 install i use this with some contract pack.

I wouldn't recommend installing both of the above simultaneously, especially not also with Galileo's mods linked earlier, but if you know what you're doing you could pick out your favourite files from each to make into your own pack.

 

For improving the look of the stock parts (and in some cases function, like making the Mk1-2 pod's purely visual RCS ports actually work), Ven has you covered. I personally use a partial install of the mod, with Fuel Tanks Plus (allows texture swapping of stock tanks, so for instance the Jumbo doesn't always have to be orange) and CCC to improve the models. As above, installing the full data of all of them at the same time will probably cause conflicts.

 

If you're interested in IVA missions, RPM offers a lot of instrumentation that's as functional as it is pretty, and integrates with some other mods like NavyFish's Docking Port Alignment Indicator.

 

Also just having texture replacer, even if you don't replace any textures, improves quality by forcing trilinear filtering and correcting mipmaps where possible. Makes KASE's ground textures in particular look better.

Hey man, not sure if im doing something wrong with install, but i have the mod installed but the game doesnt look like the screenshots. I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to this sort of stuff but would love for my ksp to look like that!  

EDIT* as expected, it was my noob computer skills. Mod looks amazing, keep up the good work!

This is what my game looks like with only SVE installed. The SVE menu  does pop up in main menu

this is just scatterer, not SVE. SVE does not have a menu in the main menu.

I figured it out. This stuff makes me feel like a fool, I just want to play in space!  thanks for the quick response, btw.
