Ok. I've been away from KSP for quite a while thanks to issues with the health of my child. Now that he's in the clear, I can resume my KSP career.

Herein lies my question. I've missed a few updates and have forgotten a few things about KSP and need help getting back up to speed and I don't know where to begin. Can any of you give me a list of the major changes from 1.0? I'll use this list as a starting point for an in depth study when I have the opportunity.

Thanks in advance.

Try the in-game tutorials. A lot of work was done on updating and expanding them. Also, there's an in-game KSPedia now with a good set of explanatory diagrams and articles. Definitely worth it if you're restarting since 1.0.

Mr. Feather34,

These are the big changes:

http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/1.0.3

added radiators

http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/1.0.5

added PorkJet parts. If you like the old Mk1 inline cockpit, be sure to save a copy of the old part file somewhere.

http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/1.1

updated to Unity 5 game engine, which broke landing gear rather badly. A few of the subsequent updates were aimed at fixing the gear.

They added tweakables for suspension stiffness and dampers in 1.1.1

The rest of the updates were bug fixes and hot patches.

Perfect. I literally am just picking KSP back up this morning and this will help a lot.

I can't wait to check out the KSPedia. Thank you so very much for the help.

Also, it's worth bearing in mind that 1.2 will be arriving Real Soon Now™.  Unlike 1.1, which wasn't much of a feature update (it was mainly about the move to Unity 5 engine, didn't change gameplay much), 1.2 will be a major feature release that introduces a lot of new gameplay.

So be prepared to make some other big adjustments soon™, after you've gotten used to 1.1.3.   You can check the weekly devnotes (in the Daily Kerbal subforum) for discussions of what's coming.

Also forget about KSP aerodynamics.

Recently I've found the aero surprisingly realistic.

And no more intake spam :-(

I've noticed that. I've logged some time in and I enjoy the revamped aero system.

Soooo basically as soon as I get used to 1.1.3 they're releasing a massive update. Awesome.

Well, just think of it as easing into the water instead of cannonballing it.  :)
