Unable to set target

Recommended Posts

I have an issue that just started in that I cannot set a target; I get a brief flash stating <vessel> was targeted, then immediately get the No Target message. This has happened with both Targetron & manually selecting target in map mode. This was working last night & I haven't updated any mods since then. I have restarted, same issue. The debug log does not show any errors when setting targets.

Has anyone run into this?

This just started happening to me (typing as I play/debug) in my KSP 1.1.3 install -- the plugins I've added most recently before noticing this problem are Kerbal Konstructs and Civilian Population Revamp, so I'll start by removing those and seeing what happens.  Maybe put up your mod list?  We can see what we have in common and focus there.  (I've got 200+ mods installed, so yours is probably the smaller set...)

Some funny symptoms: even within the same play session, it's only affecting some craft but not others (most annoyingly, my station and its new module that I'm trying to dock with it are among the affected craft...), so it may be a specific part or module (perhaps something docking-related, since that's the first part that comes to mind that these craft have that others lack) that is misbehaving.  If that's the case, then I may have to look quite far, since it may have been a while since I last tried to set a target with a craft that had a docking port.

Figured it out (in my case) -- it's from some patch that adds JSIRadar (from RPM) to docking ports (I don't know where I got it from, it was in my "unofficial patches" folder), you need to "activate radar" on a docking port to be able to target things.  (You can go into the config and set "trackWhileOff = true" to turn off this restriction.)
