[STOCK REPLICA] U-534 U-Boat

Atlas Corporation is proud to present our first marine craft, the U-534!

U-534 is a 100% stock U-Boat replica conceived during "Project Icarus," an attempt to make a modern submarine. The exterior of this replica is almost perfect, minus some possible inaccuracies. The replica, however, is completely unable to submerge. I have not yet been able to make a submerging submarine, but i have worked almost constantly on this issue for ~3 days, and i hope i can finish it soon.

That is... AWESOME!

I'd recommend using ore tank filled with ore to increase the density. I always use them on my ugly ass sub marines.

Trust me, the inside is almost filled to the brim with them. I might add more, but that means more parts and more lag.

There are some mods that add ballast tanks, as well as all the parts to build all sorts of ships.

Large Boat Parts

The ballast tank works, though it is a bit obscure exactly how it works; there are several controls modelled on the IN / OUT buttons used in resource transfer between modules in spacecraft. I've definitely managed to get makeshift "subs" (meaning buggies made of girders and airplane landing gear and with space capsules as the "command pods" and bristling with science gizmos) to submerge and even to maintain particular depths. Mod includes various water-environment propulsion systems, command modules, hulls, super-structures, etc., etc.

_IF_ using mods would float (or in this case capsize!) your boat . . .

There are several different packages in that guys mod on SpaceDock and Curse. I had a couple of them installed at first, but now I've switched to just two directories: LShipsRequired and LShipsModern I believe. There are also WWII parts.

Looks good, although it appears that you're missing the railing on the conning tower.

Were you aiming for a replica of a Type VII or a Type IX?

The only reason i haven't got the railing is because they're incredibly hard to make good-looking, and i just gave up after a few hours of trying. If i had Tweakscale i would use it (I do, but this was a stock build) to make the railings, but again, this was supposed to be stock.
