Autostrut and rigid attachment

Recommended Posts

How does Autostrut and rigid attachment works? What is the differences between them ?

How can I select Autostrut and/or Rigid Attachment for a whole craft?

When i fly my mouse over the whole craft, all parts turn green and if I right click i can check the auto strut or the rigid attachment only for the part the mouse is pointing.....

Thank's for replies...

Have you ever used the KJR mod? KJR just autostruts every part in your craft to its grandparent part -- so if you've used it, you should know. An autostrut is just a regular strut with no mass and no drag, that only goes to particular places.

Rigid attachment sets the flexibility of the joint between the current part and the parent part to zero. Rigidity can help your craft fly, but it also makes the joints more brittle -- so they snap off more easily.

And the only way to turn either one on is one part at a time.

But what can I do when my plane explodes on launch du to "structural failure on linkage between extra large gear and fuselage" ???

Landing gear is always strutted to heaviest part and whatever is set the rigid setting, on or off, same result.

This plane was fine with KJR in 1.1.3 and now it's impossible to launch.....

We need a posted craft file to test. There is a chance it's an upgrade problem from 1.1.3, so rebuilding the plane from scratch may fix the issue. There is also a possibility of a corrupted game which may need file verification.

Sorry, but the OPT mod requires several other mods that have not been updated to work on 1.2 yet.

Version 1.9 of the OPT mod is supposed to be working soon, and you will have to wait until it is working and installed in your game before your plane will work, I think.
