Segfault and Not Loading on macOS Sierra

Recommended Posts

Another post about not loading on Sierra. I downloaded version 1.2 directly from the website but couldn't get it to run. I've tried what was suggested in the other threads but this seems to be a new one. When I click the icon to launch it shows the Kerbal icon briefly in the dock and then it disappears. Running it manually from terminal shows the following:

Johns-MacBook-Pro:MacOS john$ pwd

/Applications/KSP_osx/Launcher.app/Contents/MacOS

Johns-MacBook-Pro:MacOS john$ ./Launcher

Mono path[0] = '/Applications/KSP_osx/Launcher.app/Contents/Resources/Data/Managed'

Mono config path = '/Applications/KSP_osx/Launcher.app/Contents/Data/Managed/etc'

Segmentation fault: 11

Johns-MacBook-Pro:MacOS john$

I tried deleting any saved state files for the game, but there don't appear to be any. I also tried downloading 1.1.3 but it also would not run.

Any ideas?

Okay, if you could take a look here and find your logs from KSP that might help.

Thanks so much for your help. I think I got it fixed. I went looking for the Unity log file and noticed that the ~/Library/Logs/Unity/ folder didn't exist. I decided to try and manually create it and got a permission denied error. Apparently, my ~/Library/Logs/ folder was owned by root and not by my user account.

Executing sudo chown john Logs from within the ~/Library/ folder seems to have fixed it right up.

Thanks again for your help!
