Technically speaking, you could fly a plane with opened cargo bay and try to catch the capsule from below.
And it should theoretically be safer for astronauts' necks than the example presented above.

This thing was actually done to real people, but with a bit longer line and from the ground.

The chute is just a visual effect it has no physic so you cannot grab it. Eventually with mods for example kerbal attachment system.
