Some way to toggle 64 bit ?

Can we have some way to permanently toggle the Steam version to launch 64 bit? I know I can use a shortcut but that kind of defeats the whole one stop shop Steam interface deal. Also I dont think it counts as a Steam launch, so you dont get Steam overlay functions and you dont get your play time recorded on the Steam totals.

Currently every time I launch in Steam I have to manually select 64 bit. Just seems a bit redundant.

Right click in steam

Click Properties

Click Set Launch Options

Input the following

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Kerbal Space Program\KSP_x64.exe" -popupwindow %command%

Adjust path as needed.

 

You can then launch and hit play with either radio button selected.

Seems I am not the only one thinking this, though the solution in this reddit thread involves creating a desktop shortcut from within the Steam game properties dialogue after adding the x64 exe specific address to launch options, previously I was just using a standard windows shortcut which doesnt launch in Steam.

Also the address does not need any additional parameters, just launches straight to x64 version, in fact it throws up a fleeting black window whether -popupwindow %command% is added or not, so its not necessary.

Though thanks for offering a tip Alshain  got me on the right track even if it is not precisely what I was after, since I was trying to avoid the radio buttons entirely and keep Steam's hours counter.
