Docking port issue

I have recently started having issues with docking ports getting stuck. The issue I am having is that there is no undock button when I click on the docking port.  I see that this has been a long standing problem with KSP and have tried to modify save files but none of fixes seem to work since the update.  Has anyone had this issue and come up with a way to fix it?  I love this game but I'm done with it if I can't figure this out.  I'm sick of wasting hours building ships and putting together missions only to have bugs pop up and have to start over.  Below is the portion of the docking port from my save file.

I have noticed that only the docking port on the ship which docked gives the option to Undock.
The port docked to has no undock or uncouple command in the right click menu.
