Lab and antenna questions

Recommended Posts

Here are 1 question to each of them.

1) Lab:
If I put something to the lab, i can't send the 'report' to the KSC right? For example. If I bring a surface sample up and process it, it won't let me to recover the surface sample at KSC no more. Am I correct?

2) Antenna:
If I have rovers that have a short range antenna without relay. (Yes they were landed / launched sometimes before 1.2). But then I put up a relay network up in orbit (They are strong enough to reach kerbin relay for sure). Can I transfer reports from those rovers and get science or I can transfer the report but getting no science?

Thanks

1. Unless you're playing older versions, the up-to-date behavior (I can't remember if this is introduced in 1.1.3 or earlier) is that a science experiment is "consumed" or "converted" into lab data - the original experiment will disappear. You'll need to bring another copy if you want to transmit/recover.

2. As long as it reaches KSC either directly or indirectly, science transmission functionality will be totally normal. Doesn't matter which one is launched first.

What FancyMouse said.

To further clarify on #2:  as long as the rover's (non-relay) antenna has enough oomph to reach the local relay, and the local relay can reach Kerbin, then you're good to go and can transmit just fine.
