Control From Here Problem

Before launching , how can I choose the control model  if the model is shield by a fairing ?

Set that part as root in the Vab.

You should also be able to scroll in through the fairing to see modules inside and interact with them.

Hi,when I set the part  I want to "control from here" as new root , it seems the problem doesn't be solved. I use a upside-down re-entry capsule，and on launch pad ,the navigation ball is upside-down too, I can choose a positive position  part as controlling part to correct the navigation ball orientation, but the positive part is covered by the fairing. So I need to scroll in  through the fairing  and  operate it , do you have some other  tips? thanks

In the VAB add an additional probe core, right side up. Use THAT as the root and control point.
Nothing is keeping you from using multiple probe cores or crew pods. Try to think OUTSIDE the box. Really, it is not that hard.

Docking ports can also be controlled from.

Yes, I  choose the docking port as controlling part at last , though it i is covered by the fairing . I  scroll in  through the fairing  and  operate it .

Or.....if you're willing to go full kerbal, you could fly to orbit with a reverse navball!

Remember to use retrograde instead of prograde for sas etc, don't worry I've actually done this,  twas fun!!

Simply make friends with part commander.

Does what it says on the tin, no muss no fuss.

hahah, actually , I did. lauched the rocket manually use retrograde , intersting XD
