Multi-screen issue

Recommended Posts

I have three screens on a Windows 10 PC. The centre screen is the Windows main screen, with all the icons and such.

Thing is, KSP always starts on the left screen for some reason.

Yes, I can shift it to the middle screen with Windows+Shift+RightArrow but there must be a setting or something to make KSP start on the main screen, right?

Command line arguments should be your friend here.

-adapter N (Windows only) Allows the game to run full-screen on another display. The N maps to a Direct3D display adaptor. In most cases there is a one-to-one relationship between adapters and video cards. On cards that support multi-head (that is, they can drive multiple monitors from a single card) each “head” may be its own adapter.

There is also a Windows registry entry for the screen that a given Unity game will use by default, you can find the one for KSP in HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Squad/Kerbal Space Program/

The above only work for fullscreen though.

Ah, thanks for that. I run the game without the full screen option so that I can use other windows without KSP minimising itself. So the -adapter option doesn't appear to work.

It's odd though. KSP used to always use the middle/main screen but suddenly decided to use the left screen instead a few weeks ago.

Update: I was just messing about with using the full screen option, which I didn't like as suspected but it did at least mean the -adapter option worked and switched KSP to using the main screen but then when I unchecked full screen and relaunched KSP it is now still using the main screen on launch. So it's worked out fine!
