Unable to complete satellite contracts!

Hello all, 

I am playing through my stock (other than visual mod+kerbal alarm clock) 1.2 play through and am encountering some issues completing satellite contracts. On two separate occasions, I have been unable to complete some very simple satellite contracts for some quick cash. I am by no means a new player, so I have plenty of experience putting up satellites. I have fulfilled all requirements, however, the game doesn't seem to want to cooperate with me.

I'm obviously working on the Kerbin Molniya orbit contract! I've met all requirements, however, the game will not recognize the satellite as new...

so... what was the problem?  Didn't have antenna?  Had crew aboard, so wasn't "unmanned"?  Docked briefly with an older ship after launch, so it wasn't "new"?  Don't keep us in suspense! 

Also, if your problem is solved, you can mark it as such by picking the post that you feel best answers your question, and then clicking the gray "check mark" button over on the left-hand side.  That way it'll show up as "answered" in the topics list.
