Where to buy KSP?

I've played the demo which I found pretty fun (gotten to the mun and back ) and I'd like to get the full version. Where should I buy it from? I can get it from Steam for £29.99 (http://store.steampowered.com/app/220200/) or the KSP website for £10.19 (https://kerbalspaceprogram.com/kspstore/index.php?p=22).

Is there any difference between the two as one is £20 cheaper?

Personally I bought from the store, only practical difference to Steam is the update process. Steam will auto update the game whereas the store version needs you to actively get the update from your account on the store.

Yep, as @James Kerman quoted me it's on sale on the official site. You can get a steam key.

For new purchases no, you can't. Refer to the FAQ:

If you transfer your purchase to Steam, you will no longer be able to download or update the game from the KSP Store. To move to Steam, log in to your KSP Store profile and you will find the button to start the process next to your download link. If you can’t see the button in your profile it means you purchased the game after it was on Steam and you are not eligible, no exceptions, please don’t insist.

As in you can purchase a Steam key off of kerbalspaceprogram.com for the sale price, which I did. It worked perfectly.

Blessing and a curse at times.

If you start modding, with Steam, you're going to want to copy your KSP folder so Steam doesn't auto-update and break your mods to tiny little twigs.
