What are the best Visual/Sound mods to enhance gameplay?

Hello Everybody!

I got myself a some-what high-end PC RIG that will be able to take a lot of stress. And what better way to stress-test it other than using KSP Mods to do so.

As such, what are the visual and sound mods that would enhance gameplay?

Sort of the current gold standard for visuals would probably be something like:

Distant Object Enhancement
Engine Lighting
Galileo's Sunflares
Planetshine
Poodmund’s Calm Nebulae Skybox
RealPlume Stock Configs
Reentry Particle Effect
Scatterer
Stock Visual Enhancements
Stock Visual Terrain

Some dependencies may or my not be missing from this list. And be aware: beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so perfect visuals do not usually come prepackaged. Be prepared to invest some time tweaking things to your liking.

 

As for sound - there aren't that many. Some people enjoy Chatterer, I don't. You'll have to try it for yourself.

There is also Texture Replacer, it won't do anything on its own but it let you change a lot of stock texture (skybox, EVA/IVA suit...) look in the OP for texture pack.

It probably is a dependency of several mod quoted in the previous post.

Sound wise Chatterer is the most important mod for immersion, in my opinion. You also have Docking Sound for more dramatic docking maneuver.
