I have recently bought Kerbal Space Program in the Steam Winter Sales, and I'm really enjoying it so far.

However, I'm not sure what technology to go for now I have 49 Science:

Basic Science

Flight Control

General Construction

Advanced Rocketry

I have researched all previous technologies.

Welcome to the forums! You'll soon see that this game you bought is actually a black hole, and you already crossed the Event Horizon by playing. Now there's no turning back, enjoy your stay  

Personally, I go for Basic Science, since that enables me to, well, get MORE science. Advanced Rocketry is good for the better engines, but you can make your first orbits without them and advance your techtree then.

I agree with monstah that more science is better.  It is important to note that you can get science from different altitudes as well as biomes and the more experiments you do the faster you will progress though the tech tree.
