about patch 0.16

I have to admit, that after nearly one week with the new patch, that I\'m deeply disappointed.

Where it was previously relatively easy to achieve something, it\'s somehow ridiculous difficult now with the new modules.

I experimented with it the last couple of days and so far I was only able to get into an orbit, but I\'m not even able to get back.

I don\'t know exactly what it is, but either are the new modules too weak, or too heavy, but most certainly a combination of both.

It all feels sluggish now. I\'m wobbling into orbit hoping that everything will hold together with X1 Time warp. Why was X2 disabled? why wasn\'t higher time warps enabled? Why am I stuck to X1?

These are the things that makes me put KSP away for the duration where I have to wait for the next patch, hoping that it fixes the things I truly dislike.

For me it was not a patch resolving bugs and enhancing the game play, but changing it entirely in a way I don\'t like.

Kind regard

First of all, the parts have been rebalanced for 0.16, that\'s why everything feels different. X2 time warp was removed because it caused physics problems, and yes there is a higher time warp enabled, which would be X100,000.

The rebalance of the parts don\'t make it feel better.

Instead of fixing a problem, taking it out, doesn\'t make the faulty physic go away.

X100.000 is not interesting for me, when a normal flight to the moon takes as long as the lift off.

The 100,000 time warp is for Kerbol orbits, not for super fast Mun missions.

Secondly, just keep trying to make a rocket that works. I along with a good portion of the community have figured it out with the new physics/parts, so just keep trying.

You do realize this version is a half-step towards the full set of larger parts and very little tuning has been done?

When using alpha software you have to learn to deal with the good and bad. The game is not broken, just incomplete. If this is a problem for you, then testing alpha software may not be for you.

Complaining about something that is incomplete doesn\'t help anyone.

Cheers!

They do work! Granted, I went from being able to make Mun bases to barely making orbit after the patch, but it was nice to have to learn again to be successful.

The changes add a realistic challenge with large rockets, and balancing fuel, weight, and thrust to make orbit and not tear the rocket apart with drag on ascent (Look up Max Q, somebody else mentioned it in another thread, makes a huge difference).

I\'ve been struggling since the patch came out, and just made it to the Mun and back with a 3m lander last night. Just work towards it, the sense of accomplishment will be there!

Locked before this degrades into a flame war.

I love .16, as do many other people and while you are entitled to your opinion, perhaps you should ask for help in learning the changes before raging on the current status of an in-development game.
