2017 off to a bad start, and getting personal.

My mom's boyfriend of three years died of a heart attack while trying to get his truck unstuck after sliding off an icy road while going to see her. At least it saved him a slow decline as he was starting to have memory problems. But he still had some good years left. He was a great guy and will be sorely missed by his family and all who knew him.

Bad news. I'm sad you lost someone you liked  The snow has a dark side too... 

The new year started great for us tho... it snowed yesterday evening for the first time after 3 years with nearly no snow at all. And on the evening of the 1st January you were able to see the Moon and Venus quite close together in the night sky.

Losing someone you liked, especially part of your family,  is always hard and a big loss. Sadly, it happens to everyone.

May the Kraken be with you in these hard times

I'm sorry for your loss. I hope that the rest of the year goes much better for you and your family. I suggest going to spend some time with your mom, as I'm sure she must feel terrible right now.
