Looking at the link it comes from a NASA forum. They might know the answer there.

Following the link, the image is called 51-L_Clip_319.jpg.  51-L was the mission on which the Challenger was lost, so, yeah, I would guess it is indeed the nose of a space shuttle.

I think you're right.
Applying some Google-fu on the term "51-L debris" resulted in several images. Below are just two examples but they are without a doubt the same wreckage.

Looking at images of the orbiter intact, I'd guess it was part of those bulbous parts behind the cargo bay, housing the OMS - those all had white tiles, the Nose was all black ones.

Salvaged wreckage from Challenger. After the investigation the remains were "buried" in an disused missile silo at KSC. The remains of Columbia and Apollo 1 were buried similarly.
