Other things to do around Kennedy Space Center

I'm thinking of taking a vacation to Florida later this year (possibly October) specifically to visit the Kennedy Space Center and I'm looking for suggestions for other astronautical and aeronautical places to visit in the area (within say 100 miles of the KSC).

If there is anything particularly good that's a bit further afield (taking a short flight would be a possibility) but it would have to be something that was possible to travel to and from in a day from the KSC area.

So any ideas?

FWIW, I live in Orlando, and the only aviation-related thing I can think of off the top of my head is the Florida Aviation Museum over in Lakeland.  It would be (I'm guessing) a 1.5 to 2 hour drive from the Cape.  It's mostly antique planes, plus some warbirds.

The Sun 'n Fun Fly-In is also in Lakeland, but that's in early April so it sounds like you'd miss that.  If you're into motorcycles, there's Biketoberfest in Daytona Beach (an hour's drive) in October.  I ride out for that most years.

Speaking of Daytona Beach, there's Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University there. I'm sure you could get a tour around campus, and maybe sit in on a class there. I don't think that's what you're looking for, but it's all I got.
